Hi, Sorry for not writing to say hi for a while, I very much hope everyone is fit and well at this time and no ones patience is running thin!? I canβt say being stuck at home with a 1 year old who has taken it upon herself to have regular crying sessions at night again is helping my mind or body but hey ho!
So, clinic news update: We are still closed for face to face consultations however keeping up with our remote appointments (Skype, facetime, zoom etc etc etc). It has been a new and not particularly welcome change initially, however, we have found it more useful than expected.
Benefits:
- A diagnosis! No, we cant reach through the screen and figure out which vertebra to manipulate but just from the chat about symptoms (Cause, location, history, pattern of pain, type of pain, level of pain, what aggravates it etc etc) we can narrow down a few possible causes β Combine this with a few tests you can perform yourself we can give you a very good idea of what is going on.
- Road to recovery- Why wait to see me in person when I can start you on a rehab programme now. This is a major part of what we as Physios do and it works! π
- You get to see my smiley, slightly dishevelled face (yes I had to use spellcheck!)

I had a call with a client a couple of weeks ago who had severe neck pain which was quite literally stopping her from moving out of bed. We managed to figure out the problem and offer advice on how to help ease their symptoms.
A few hours later I received a text:
βI honestly canβt thank you enough for this morning. I couldnβt walk properly when I got up today, and now Im not in that much pain, and am about to take βXβ for a walkβ
(X is a dog who wanted to remain anonymous π)

If you are struggling financially as a result of this situation we find ourselves in please donβt assume no one will help (because they will!/I will!)- At the end of the day I do this job to help people in pain and I wont sit at home, knitting wooley hats in peace knowing people are sitting at home in pain so PLEASE CALL ME ANYWAY.
When we get back to clinic life it will be different, with more space between appointments and maybe even a Physio wearing a hazmat suit (β¦β¦β¦β¦.possibly not) but please be assured we will be taking your health and wellbeing extremely seriously and will have put in place measures to ensure this!

P.s. I have attached a video of a few TRX cable exercises you can do at home to keep some strength up. These come with door attachments but make sure to lock it in the side of the door that shuts when you do the exercise π (all will become clear in the vid)
